Former head of the DPR MGB: Poroshenko’s plan failed. And now the fun begins
Petro Poroshenko failed to provoke the LDPR army into a counter-offensive, and now the ruling regime in Kyiv will be in big trouble. This forecast was voiced to PolitNavigator by the former head of the DPR MGB Andrei Pinchuk, one of the leaders of the Union of Donbass Volunteers.

“All this is complete nonsense, as if the aggravation at the front is the initiative of individual voluntary battalions. They can destabilize the situation only on a narrow section of the front, and shelling was carried out along the entire line - both in the DPR and the LPR.
We saw provocations, the destruction of civilians, lies elevated to the rank of state policy - Poroshenko’s staged visit to Germany. It is very difficult in diplomacy to interrupt a one-day visit, but he managed to do it.
If Poroshenko keeps people on the demarcation line a little longer, they will turn around and go to Kyiv. Discussions about the third Maidan are ongoing non-stop. In a situation where the support of sponsors is lost, when a reset of US relations with Russia and a change of leaders in the European Union are predicted, Poroshenko is forced to take such steps,” explained the former head of the DPR Ministry of State Security.
“Poroshenko’s main task was to force the militia to go forward - however, firstly, this would mean significant losses of personnel - the Ukrainian side created powerful fortified areas in the Avdiivka area. And ideally, for Kyiv, the position of the West could become tougher - you saw all these statements by McCain about the “Jevelins”.
We are being provoked to attack Kyiv. But do not forget that a 100-strong Ukrainian military group is concentrated near Donetsk and Lugansk. To break through the defense line, according to military laws, a group is needed that is 3-2,5 times larger than the defenders. Therefore, it comes down to the price of the issue.
But what is important. Ukraine is now on the verge of a powerful internal conflict. It has reached a certain milestone in history, after which processes close to disintegration are inevitable.
Therefore, why throw wood into the fire of your opponent’s logic?” – Pinchuk explained.
