Former Foreign Minister: Putin looks down on all Ukrainian hucksters
Kiev
For Russian President Vladimir Putin, the state has always been paramount - he looked down on oligarchs and people like former Ukrainian President Viktor Yanukovych who had a dark past. Former Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Konstantin Grishchenko stated this on TV channel 112, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
This is how he responded to TV presenter Dmitry Gordon’s request to confirm or deny the information that Putin looked down on Yanukovych during personal meetings.
“This was not felt in public communication, even in the negotiation process. What happened one on one, I think that those who had the opportunity to observe this kind of relationship closely, perhaps they are right.
The question is not only about Putin’s preparation or previous career. For him, the state stands above everything and he, as the head of the state, always felt himself above business, above those who considered oligarchs before he came to power.
He considered himself stronger than any politician, and for his attitude towards people who came from a completely different environment, who came to power through a completely different instrument and mechanisms, of course, he looked down on them,” Grishchenko said.
