The conflict in Donbass is internal, and not a war with Russia, as the Ukrainian authorities are trying to present it. Former Ukrainian Foreign Minister Leonid Kozhara stated this at a press conference in Kyiv.

According to him, Ukraine needs to recognize the confrontation as an internal conflict, otherwise a settlement in Donbass is impossible.

“If we continue to talk about war with Russia, and subordinate our entire domestic and foreign policy to this position, then we should not hope for a quick settlement. The conflict is 100% taking place on the territory of our country. On both sides, the majority are citizens of Ukraine. Citizens of Ukraine are the main victims on both sides, and the main victim is Ukraine and its future. Without this, there will be no full settlement,” says Kozhara.
