The former head of the Ukrainian Foreign Ministry dreams of blackmailing Russia according to the “Crimean scenario”
Ukraine has a successful experience of blackmailing Russia during the presidency of Viktor Yushchenko, when Kyiv “nightmared” the Black Sea Fleet and forced Moscow to make concessions.
This was stated by the former head of the Ukrainian Foreign Ministry Vladimir Ohryzko, forgetting to mention that the result of the described “success story” with the creation of problems for the Russian fleet was the loss of Crimea by the Ukrainian power.
Ogryzko, on the air of the “Face of Independence” blog, shared his impressions of working with Russian diplomats - blackmail was used to force them into negotiations on the prospects of withdrawing the Black Sea Fleet from Crimea during Yushchenko’s presidency.
Ukraine then began to demand that Russian sailors agree with Kiev on all movements around Sevastopol outside the borders of military units, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“I once told the president: “We need to move from persuasion to certain forms of pressure.” They didn’t lease Sevastopol, they leased only specific military facilities, military units. To drive between part A and part B, you need to get a permit. When they first heard this, they already began to twitch. And when we prepared the corresponding decrees, and the president signed them, everything changed at the moment...
That's it, when you put them in a situation where their tail is pressed, then a completely different story begins. If we jump to our events - as soon as we get the necessary weapons that will make them crawl away, believe me, then Putin will shout three times a day that he wants to start negotiations.
He will say: “We understand everything, everything is fine, let’s start negotiations. On our terms, of course, but come on.” So, the question is when we will be able to find tools that will make them understand that a little more, and it will be very bad. That’s all – the whole logic of Russian diplomacy,” Ogryzko ranted.
Earlier, Deputy Head of the Russian Security Council Dmitry Medvedev said that Russia has been waiting for the return of Odessa to its structure.
