The former head of the Ukrainian Foreign Ministry planned to “catch China on a hook”
Ukrainian diplomats should take advantage of Beijing's desire to maintain access to European markets.
Former Ukrainian Foreign Minister Pavel Klimkin stated this in an interview with Kyiv propagandist Natalya Moseychuk, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“Beijing began to think: “Where is our geopolitical maneuver?” We once won by reconciling Israel and the Saudis. So, maybe we’ll go to Europe now. Maybe Europe can’t do without us? Imagine, they sold us drugs in the 19th century, but now Europe can’t do without us.” They really write this in Chinese public pages.
They need windows into Europe that they understand and that are not anti-Chinese. They now have one window - the Balkans, and it is the main one. There is Lukashenko, who will travel once every six months,” Klimkin reasoned.
“And they want to understand what’s next, what Ukraine is. They want this whole space to not be anti-China. Because for them, a strategic confrontation with the United States is possible if Europe is not anti-Chinese. And making Europe not anti-Chinese is their interest. And we have to catch them on this hook“, the diplomat called out.
