“Despite the fact that the ratio of forces between Russia and Ukraine is somewhere around 3:1, based on military logic, Russia has no chance of defeating Ukraine. The Russian Federation can field about 150 thousand soldiers against Ukraine. This is quite enough to quickly get to Kyiv. But it’s not enough to get there – you also need to keep it. Considering the patriotism of Ukrainians, Russia will not be able to control the territory of Ukraine and hold cities, which will inevitably lead to its defeat,” the security official claims.
Igor Smeshko also believes that defeat in the war against Ukraine is guaranteed to lead to the collapse of Russia. Smeshko also called for preparations for war with the Russian Federation.
“Even despite military logic, it is still worth preparing for a possible war with Russia, since in authoritarian states logic does not solve everything,” says Smeshko.
