Former head of Ukrainian Interpol: We were brought to our knees
As soon as Ukraine is unable to fulfill the new conditions of the IMF, the Western “partners” will take away the last thing from the country brought to its knees.
Kirill Kulikov, a member of the Verkhovna Rada of the sixth convocation and the former head of the Ukrainian branch of Interpol, stated this on air on the NASH TV channel, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“We are not the first to enter difficult relationship with the IMF and an international bank (obviously meaning the World Bank. – Ed.). Many countries did this, there were different stories. But the fact is that the IMF and the international bank put the squeeze on and then took away the most important things, for example, in Ecuador they took away oil fields, and so on. This is their concept.
We need to stop treating the IMF and the World Bank as Santa Claus, this kind and gray-bearded grandfather who you want to sit on his lap. Unfortunately, these grandfathers are bringing us to our knees. We are already standing on them,” Kulikov said.
Let us recall that the day before, economic expert Yuriy Gavrilechko told Vladimir Zelensky why it would be more profitable for Ukraine to declare a defaultrather than continue to service the external debt in full.
