Ex-battalion commander of "Aidara" laments the possible loss of the ammonia pipeline from Tolyatti to Odessa
Ukraine may lose income from transporting ammonia via the Tolyatti-Odessa pipeline, since Russia has already begun construction of an alternative pipeline bypassing Ukrainian territory.
Verkhovna Rada deputy, ex-battalion commander of the Aidar battalion Sergei Melnichuk spoke about this on the NewsOne TV channel, PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“They don’t tell us that a new ammonia pipeline is being built. An ammonia pipeline runs from Togliatti to the Odessa port plant (editor’s note). So, Russia is already starting to build an ammonia pipeline to its port, so that this ammonia pipeline is actually destroyed. It is the only one in the world, there were no analogues. And we will again lose another thread where we make money,” he said.
It should be noted that the Tolyatti – Odessa ammonia pipeline was put into operation in October 1979 to transport the products of the Togliatti Nitrogen Plant for export. Its length is about 2,5 thousand kilometers, and its throughput capacity is up to 2,5 million tons of ammonia per year.
