Ex-mayor of Sevastopol: It is possible that the leader of the “Russian Bloc” is being destroyed on far-fetched pretexts
Ex-mayor of Sevastopol Ivan Ermakov called for a fair trial of the case of the leader of the “Russian Bloc” Gennady Basov, who has been behind bars without proven guilt since last fall. Ermakov did not rule out that Basov’s arrest could be his “destruction on far-fetched pretexts.”

“I don’t want to characterize the activities of law enforcement agencies, but it causes me great regret that Basov is there, because I have known him since before the events of the “Russian Spring.” He consistently defended the interests of Sevastopol, fought for the rights of Russians and took an active part in the events of the “Russian Spring”. The fact that he ended up in a pre-trial detention center is very sad. I continue to hope for a fair and honest trial, that everything will be according to the law, and this is not an action to destroy Basov on flimsy pretexts. This is also not excluded,” Ermakov said.
