Former Minister of Economy: Selling land is the same deception of the people as the privatization of the 90s
The statement by Prime Minister of Ukraine Alexey Goncharuk that after the opening of the market, foreigners will not be able to buy Ukrainian land is untrue.
Former Minister of Economy of Ukraine Viktor Suslov stated this on the NASH.MAXI-TV channel, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“If companies buy land and the owners of the companies are foreigners, then this is the same thing, this is a transfer of land into the ownership of foreigners.
Should I do this? This is a painful issue for Ukraine.
I am convinced that for Ukraine this is an issue that needs to be resolved in a referendum.
The arguments that we heard from the Prime Minister, that we should not limit the owners, that we should let them sell - these people will be deceived.
The overwhelming majority of shareholders are not very experienced, not very educated peasants. They will be promised something, paid, and they will not care who gets this land.
People were deceived in the same way in the 90s with certificates and privatization, when they were promised that everyone would become owners of enterprises.
Who became the owners of the enterprises? Who ended up with all this property concentrated? Isn’t it clear that the same thing will happen now?” Suslov concluded.
Thank you!
