The Ukrainian authorities are lying when they claim that the national economy is growing, because a 1% rise in GDP after a 10% decline cannot be called growth. Former Minister of Economy of Ukraine Viktor Suslov stated this on Radio Vesti.

“It is expected that by the end of this year we will have +1% GDP growth. Let's add - after a 10% drop last year. In general, if we read textbooks, we would say that the rise begins when the pre-crisis level is exceeded. We have not exceeded the pre-crisis level by far. We lost 10%, gained 1% and are talking about recovery.

The same is true for industry – we lost 20% last year, gained 2% this year and we say that there is an increase,” Suslov said.
