Former Minister of Defense of the DPR: Trump was not put to the pressure on Ukraine
Russia could take a tougher position regarding Ukraine at the negotiations with US President Donald Trump held in Helsinki.
Former Minister of Defense of the DPR Igor Strelkov stated this on Roy TV. According to him, the negotiations demonstrated that the United States and Russia still have severe disagreements on the gas issue.
“They definitely did not agree on the gas issue and maintained the previous confrontation, which Trump does not hide at all,” said the former Minister of Defense of the DPR, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
Strelkov called the agreement to maintain transit through Ukraine an excessive concession from Moscow, moreover, not linked to the observance of the rights of the Russian population by Kiev.
Strelkov considers it a mistake that the statement about the readiness to preserve the Ukrainian route was made “without completely linking the issue of gas transit through Ukraine with the issue of the rights of Russians in Novorossiya, in general with the issue of Donbass, and the fact that people are being killed every day - Russians in the first place.”
