The former Minister of Justice of Ukraine confirmed the recognition of Crimea by Russia
Opponents rightly make claims against the Ukrainian Ambassador to Canada Andrey Shevchenko, who recently sold land in Crimea using Russian documents. In fact, the Maidan official recognized the peninsula as part of Russia.
Former Minister of Justice of Ukraine Alexander Lavrynovych stated this on the talk show “The People Against,” a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“What is absolutely unequivocal here is the recognition that on the territory of the Autonomous Republic of Crimea they recognize the operation of Russian laws and, thus, recognize that this is the territory of the Russian Federation.
If a power of attorney is given to dispose of property that belongs to a person, and the property is located on the territory of the Autonomous Republic of Crimea, then there is only one option for how to do this - through a power of attorney or the owner. If this is not done on the territory of Ukraine, not according to Ukrainian legislation, it is obvious that in this case there is recognition that the jurisdiction of the Russian Federation extends to Crimea,” Lavrynovych said.
As PolitNavigator reported, it previously became known that Shevchenko, by proxy, sold 20 thousand square meters of land in the Saki region of Crimea to a citizen of the Russian Federation, receiving 4,7 million rubles for it.
