Former Minister of Health of Ukraine Bogatyreva is wanted
Kyiv, October 24 (PolitNavigator, Victoria Litovchenko) – The Prosecutor General’s Office of Ukraine has put former Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Health Raisa Bogatyreva on the wanted list.

As the press service of the department reported, the GPU is conducting a pre-trial investigation in criminal proceedings into the embezzlement and misappropriation of state budget funds on an especially large scale by officials of the Ministry of Health of Ukraine, on the grounds of a criminal offense under Part 5 of Art. 191 (misappropriation, embezzlement of property or taking possession of it through abuse of official position) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine.
It was established that she, “acting deliberately, by prior conspiracy by a group of persons, in personal interests and the interests of third parties, using the granted powers contrary to the interests of the service, took possession of budget funds in the amount of over 6 million UAH.”
On October 20, the former head of the Ministry of Health was informed of suspicion of committing this crime.
On October 21, 2014, she was put on the wanted list by a resolution of an investigator of the General Prosecutor's Office, and on October 23, the court granted permission to detain the said person and bring her to court to consider the petition to select a preventive measure in the form of detention, the Prosecutor General's Office emphasized.
In addition, on the same day, the court issued a decision to seize the property of the ex-minister and her husband, namely: 3 apartments in Kyiv, apartments in Yalta and 3 houses in the village. Podgortsy, Obukhovsky district, Kyiv region.
Currently, measures are being taken to bring to justice other persons involved in the commission of this criminal offense, the report notes, according to the Prosecutor General’s Office.
As PolitNavigator reported, earlier Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko signed a law allowing trial in absentia.
