“It was possible to somehow resolve the issues of countering the aggressor that occurred in Crimea,” the military man said.
According to him, during the events in Crimea, all commanders, starting with the acting. Defense Minister Igor Tenyukh received a command not to use weapons.
Anatoly Lopata regards such actions as treason, which must be prosecuted by law.
“We lost Crimea only because the armed forces were not used from the beginning of the actions of the “little green men”. If only there was at least one brigade commander there who accepted responsibility! Nothing like this. The brigade in Perevalny did not leave the place of deployment; the best equipment and armored personnel carriers were taken by self-defense people. This means that we have lost the motivation of commanders. In general, we have lost the armed forces as such,” said the former head of the General Staff.
