Ukraine needs to fence itself off from Russia with a wall and get used to living the way Israel lives - next door to the enemy.

This idea was expressed by ex-Prime Minister of Ukraine, former head of the Fifth Directorate of the KGB of the Ukrainian SSR Yevgeny Marchuk in an interview with the Kyiv newspaper “Den”.
“Right now we need to do a lot of internal work. And get used to living like, say, Israel next door to the enemy. You just need to stop deceiving yourself and calling a spade a spade and drawing appropriate conclusions... Our neighbor is a big, insidious, dangerous enemy. Everyone needs to learn to live with this: both the state and individual citizens. And it’s clear from everything that this will last for a long time,” Marchuk is sure.
Developing the analogy with the conflict between Israel and Palestine proposed by the publication’s journalist, the politician said that a wall between Ukraine and Russia needs to be built, although this will cause great discontent among residents of the border regions.
“The strong built a wall there to fence themselves off from the aggressive weak. But with us it will be the other way around. If we build a wall, it will not create any special problems for the enemy in a military sense. Unless it will secure our border from hooligans and smugglers. But there will be many dissatisfied people, including on our side. Those who live in border areas and who have friends and relatives in Russia will not be too happy about such structures. It will take time to convince them. But there may be a good symbolic meaning in this wall: to show Europe where the concrete border is between them and aggressive Asia. Well, let Russia think.” – says Evgeniy Marchuk.
