Ex-colonel of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine told why Ukrainian arsenals are being destroyed
The explosions at military warehouses in Ichnya, Balakleya and Kalinovka, which have occurred over the past few years, are a matter of corruption and an attempt to hide thefts in the army.
Oleg Zhdanov, a retired colonel and former officer of the operational department of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, stated this on air on the 112 Ukraine TV channel, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
According to the expert, the management of Arsenal No. 6 in the Chernigov region, where a fire occurred yesterday, as in other cases with the destruction of military warehouses in Ukraine, could thus hide the shortages, because not only ammunition was stored there, but also components made of precious metals.
“I adhere to the version of corruption. Because all three arsenals burned the same way, work was carried out at all three arsenals to dispose of ammunition, the fire occurred at night and en masse, which led to the massive detonation of ammunition,” Zhdanov said.
“In Balakleya they collected all spent cartridges from the ATO zone. These are brass and high alloy steel. Can you imagine how much it costs? How much do explosives cost - TNT and hexogen, which are melted from the same shells. If air defense missiles are disposed of, then there are circuit boards on which there are precious metals - silver, gold and others. It is not necessary to sell these shells on the international market; you can earn enough money on the domestic market of Ukraine,” the colonel clarified.
Let us remind you that yesterday in the Chernihiv region there was a major fire in military warehouses with artillery shells.
In Kyiv right there saw a Russian trace in what happened.
"Reedus" wrote that, commenting on the emergency, the Minister of Infrastructure of Ukraine Vladimir Omelyan in his blog combined into one a number of events taking place in the world and said that Russia was to blame for everything.
