The ex-ambassador of Moldova in Moscow threatens Transnistria with Romanian troops
Chisinau intends to monitor the situation in Ukraine and pause the settlement of the situation around the PMR.
The correspondent of PolitNavigator reports this in a comment to Nezavisimaya Gazeta by the former vice-chairman of the National Liberal Party, which advocates the annexation of Moldova to Romania, the head of the Chisinau Center for Strategic Studies and Political Consulting and ex-ambassador in Moscow Anatol Tsaranu.
“The fact that Russian deputies nevertheless went to Transnistria for the elections will not add anything positive to our relations with Moscow. Chisinau, as before, does not recognize elections in Transnistria. Negotiations on the settlement of the Transnistrian armed conflict will be paused - Moldova will monitor events in Ukraine,” the ex-ambassador said.
At the same time, he then actually moved on to threatening Transnistria with foreign troops.
“If it flares up more strongly there [in Ukraine], then Chisinau, like the parliament of the Moldavian Republic “Sfatul Tarii” in 1918, will be forced to turn to Romania for military assistance. Especially considering that in Transnistria there is Operational a group of Russian troops, and this poses a danger to Moldova,” Tsaranu threatened.
