The ex-ambassador of the Russian Federation to the United States revealed the cause of anti-Russian hysteria in America
The rapid deterioration of relations between the United States and Russia is due to the low mutual economic interest of the two countries. This was stated today at the Stolypin Forum by the former Ambassador of the Russian Federation to the United States, Senator Sergei Kislyak.
He recalled that in 2011, trade turnover with Russia was less than a percent of foreign trade, now it is less than 0,5%.
“The Americans have a very narrow layer of people who are financially interested in good relations with us. Everything related to sanctions against us is not the biggest loss for the Americans. The Americans are also not the first on the list of priority economic partners for us,” Kislyak said.

“In conditions of anti-Russian hysteria, people vote for Congress, often without reading the documents. I know this reliably from a number of documents. Why? Because none of them should worry about what their voters think. It’s impossible to invent economic ties out of thin air,” Kislyak said.
