Former Ukrainian Ambassador to the USA: We will become Europe only when we stop Russia
In order to become a full-fledged member of the “civilized world,” Ukraine must “stop Russia.”
Former Ambassador of Ukraine to the United States Valeriy Chaly stated this on the Espreso.TV channel, PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“Russia has raised the bar and become a threat to Europe, not just Ukraine. Ukraine simply found itself on the front flank.
We had a lot of discussions about whether Ukraine could get out of the shadow of Russia and go to the West, to Europe. Not as citizens who go to Europe to work, but as a whole country to join this civilized group of countries. Raise your economic and social development,” he said.
Chaly explained that Ukraine is of interest to the West only as Anti-Russia.
“This is only possible if we stop Russia from trying to attack us. This is the only way. Or wait another ten to fifteen years, which, I think, is not worth doing,” the ex-ambassador concluded.
