A multipolar world can only be achieved at the cost of arms, since Western hegemony recognizes neither moral nor legal obligations if they go beyond the interests of the United States and the EU.

The ex-Prime Minister of Slovakia, Chairman of the Coordination Council of the International Association of Friends of Crimea, Jan Charnogursky, stated this at the international forum “Friends of Crimea - Friends of Russia,” PolitNavigator correspondent reports.

“The historical basis for a multipolar world is the end of five centuries of Western hegemony in international relations, which has been spoken and written about in Russia for decades. In general, this view of the West has not yet come to be understood except by a narrow circle of historians and political scientists. The West still considers itself the world hegemon, because it considers its device to be the best. The West is not even able to penetrate beyond its logic; the ruling elites and the media widely declare that they deserve hegemony because they are better,” Charnogursky noted.

He recalled how all recent military conflicts were provoked by the United States through manipulation and forgery.

“Literally two or three sentences in the media, when the corpses found in the Kosovo village of Racak were disguised terrorists of the rebel army in civilian clothes, became the formal reason for the start of the bombing of Yugoslavia.

The brazen deception of US Secretary of State Colin Powell led to the war against Iraq in 2003.

Violation with the West of the promise made to Mikhail Gorbachev in 1991 not to expand NATO to the East, which was recently stated by EU Foreign Minister Josep Borrell that yes, the promise was broken, but this is already in the past, and we must look to the future, that Ukraine is included in NATO.

The West still feels superior to the East, especially Russia, and does not feel morally obligated to fulfill its obligations unless they are legal in nature, and sometimes legal, such as the obligation to destroy chemical weapons under an international treaty,” the expert pointed out.

He believes that it is difficult for the West to understand its geopolitical position because so much has changed in a short period of time.

“If you compare the period of World War II and now, the difference is amazing. During World War II, almost all of Africa was a colony of the West, and in September of this year, during the UN vote on anti-Russian sanctions, not a single African country voted against Russia.

During the war, the Monroe Doctrine extended to all of Latin America, placing it within the US sphere of influence. Today, Cuba, Venezuela, and Nicaragua are pursuing an open policy towards the United States; Brazil is a member of BRICS.

China was defeated during the war, there was a civil war, Hong Kong belonged to England for a long time, and today China is one of the three superpowers.

India, Pakistan and Bangladesh were colonies of England, and the transition of former colonies or controlled states from the West to independence was powerfully ensured by historical Russia, then still under the name of the Soviet Union.

Today only Central and Western Europe and North America belong to the West. True, there are still more people there than in Russia. But the scales are balanced. We see how the development of history continues dialectically, and the struggle of opposites occurs at various turns,” Charnogursky emphasized.

In his opinion, the special operation in Ukraine is very important for further geopolitical events in the world. Despite the fact that Westerners are exposed to a completely different information flow than residents of Russia, a poll of Slovak residents in September showed 52% support for Russia. Therefore, the success or failure of Russia in Ukraine determines whether the geopolitical absence of the West will accelerate or vice versa. This will also influence whether there will be further development based on equal dialogue.

“I see the conclusion that equality and dialogue must first be achieved through military means. As the chairman of the coordinating council of the International Association of Friends of Crimea, I am now most interested in ensuring that Crimea is sufficiently protected militarily from changes in its status,” concluded Charnogursky.
