The former Prime Minister of Ukraine admitted: NATO can only help with words
NATO can only help Ukraine politically; military force is unlikely to intervene.
The representative of Ukraine in the subgroup on security issues of the Trilateral Contact Group in Minsk, Yevgeny Marchuk, spoke about this on the air of the 112 Ukraine TV channel, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“At present NATO cannot involve the military component. It was clear to everyone from the very beginning that it cannot now intervene by military force in this situation, but the fact that NATO countries are a military-political bloc, that is, in the political sphere and in the sphere of assistance to Ukraine in military and other senses and sanctions against Russia, of course, it can. Now there is a decision on the possible introduction of additional sanctions.
NATO's role is known, but we just hope they send us troops. In general, you know that there are no NATO troops, there are troops from NATO countries, and some rapid reaction and special operations forces. But the military component – no, you don’t even need to imagine that,” Marchuk assured.
