Ex-Regionals are preparing a new betrayal of the South-East
Former members of the Party of Regions will once again betray the South-East in the upcoming presidential elections in Ukraine, failing to agree on a single candidate, or secretly collaborating with the ruling nationalist regime.
Pavel Rudyakov, director of the Perspektiva information and political center, stated this in a comment to a PolitNavigator correspondent.

“I think there is not the slightest chance that there will be such a single candidate. Theoretically, it is possible to overcome fragmentation, but practically not, and the fact that this is impossible is evidenced by the fact that there is not even such an item as unification on the public (and non-public) agenda. Everyone pulls the blanket over themselves, everyone prepares some segment, some kind of platform for themselves, but does not think about unification.
What the experience of young democracies like us in other countries shows is that such unification begins with a vibrant public information campaign, but we don’t have this,” the expert said.
Rudyakov believes that the version of secret coordination of actions between Petro Poroshenko and the leader of the Opposition Bloc Yuriy Boyko looks plausible.
“Of course, Poroshenko views Boyko as a convenient sparring partner. This is certainly true.
Why Boyko - there are several reasons at once, there is a very long acquaintance, and a fairly high degree of personal trust, and, secondly, a coincidence of interests, situational, but a coincidence. Thirdly, he is a figure, he can really be led to some percentage, about 12-15, and the rest (conditional candidates from the South-East, - ed.) cannot be led, because the figures are such, quite conventional, five percenters, for whom 5% is a lot.
Well, besides, I believe that there is some kind of preliminary agreement that such a project is possible and can be implemented, but this, like many of our agreements, can be interrupted or terminated at the initiative of the customer at any time. moment, if there is a different model, a different scheme,” argues Rudyakov.
