Former member of the Party of Regions, and now a representative of the “Opposition Bloc”, deputy oligarch Vadim Novinsky, one of those who, after the victory of Euromaidan, continued to attend meetings of the Verkhovna Rada and helped legalize the coup d’etat, delivered the keynote, which reads about the economic crisis and the change of power in Ukraine in the coming fall.

“The political autumn of 2016 is the time when post-Maidan stereotypes will be broken, the time when society will begin to recover. The agenda of the upcoming political autumn will be determined along the lines of opposing positions: war or peace? Continued devastation or stabilization and recovery? Imitation of reforms or a new Constitution? Euro-optimism and illusory hopes for the West, or Euroscepticism and hopes only for yourself and your own strengths? Is Russia an enemy and aggressor, or is Russia the most important political and economic partner? Interests of transnational bigwigs or national interests? In this system with given coordinates, Ukraine will have to resolve issues in the next six months,” writes Novinsky.

At the same time, the author delicately conceals that it was his political force - the Party of Regions - that did everything to plunge Ukraine into chaos, stubbornly insisting until the last moment on signing an association agreement with the European Union, despite calls from Russia to abandon such a step.

“The pendulum has swung in the other direction: the war, not only in the East of the country, but also the confrontation in society, the atmosphere of mistrust and “witch hunts,” the geopolitical confrontation, is coming to an end. There are a number of important factors that will completely change Ukrainian politics this coming fall,” continues Novinsky.

“Firstly, the post-Maidan government will completely collapse this fall. This will be one of the factors determining the future political landscape of the country. The current configuration: Poroshenko’s people - Groysman’s people - the “People’s Front” squeezed the Maidan revolutionaries out of power, but internal processes will tear it apart in the near future. And a new round of the political crisis, which has lasted more than two years, will begin...

The next factor changing Ukrainian politics is changes in world politics. Today's Europe is rapidly changing the winds and setting new sails for the sake of survival. The idea of creating a free trade zone from Lisbon to Vladivostok, as relevant as ever, as a counterbalance to the stillborn project of the Transatlantic Free Trade Area, turns Ukraine into the main stumbling block: until the Ukrainian issue is resolved, it is impossible to move on to resolving the issue of rapprochement between Europe and Russia,” writes the oligarch.

“The next thing Ukraine will face in the fall is the need to revise socio-economic policy. After the events on Maidan, a government came to power expressing the interests of transnational companies. And by the fall there will be a serious protest from desperate citizens faced with the IMF’s policies in Ukraine: utility tariffs, rising prices, elimination of benefits, galloping unemployment, all of this will bear real fruit in just two months. And these may well be “the grapes of wrath,” Novinsky warns.
