“Russia is doomed to Putin. I am not sure that Putin will last until 2036, as all official constitutional documents now allow, but I am not sure that after Putin someone will come to power who will treat Ukraine differently.

To begin with, he chose a confrontation with the West in order to be able to sit in the circle of great powers, and for Putin this is the United States, China, England, France and Russia - such a powerful five. To do something, to return to something that was reminiscent of the Yalta Conference of 1945, when he was absolutely equal with everyone.
