Ex-comrade-in-arms of Yanukovych welcomes shutdown of Russian TV
Kyiv, April 04 (Navigator, Mikhail Ryabov) - The Ukrainian authorities did absolutely the right thing by introducing a ban on the broadcast of Russian TV channels, said Verkhovna Rada deputy Inna Bogoslovskaya, in the recent past a member of the Party of Regions faction.

“Many have relatives and friends in Crimea, Donetsk, Kharkov. Those people who watched Russian channels were simply zombied. At the level of quarrels in the family, parents and children, brothers and sisters. Now, when they began to turn off Russian channels, a week or two has already led to the fact that people have become capable of dialogue, they have begun to hear. That is, of course, we must influence information policy. If we have a propaganda machine nearby, we should not pretend that this is a violation of freedom of speech,” she said on Public TV.
Bogoslovskaya believes that only a small proportion of the Ukrainian population can distinguish truth from propaganda on TV.
“Those who want to think – there are 4% of such people in any society. The vast majority of the population perceives TV as an absolute source of information. Look at sociology - for 83% television is the main source of information,” the deputy explained.
