Ex-comrade Yushchenko called on Ukrainians to “rise from their knees” and celebrate May 9
The former companion of Viktor Yushchenko and Yuriy Lutsenko congratulated the Ukrainian people on May 9 and promised that “fascism, which is raising its head in Ukraine,” will not pass, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.

“On November 23, 2017, having learned from the press about another prank of scoundrels to desecrate the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier, more than 100 Kiev residents decided to be on duty every night so that this abomination would not happen again in our City.
We do not consider ourselves heroes, we are normal people who are tired of indifferently contemplating how demons dance on the graves of our grandfathers, who saved the world from fascism. We all have families, jobs, affairs, but if the state deliberately does not want to fulfill its legally prescribed responsibilities, we, the Citizens, have taken on this role.
We were on duty, every night for more than 6 months, not to show off in front of the television cameras or earn an imaginary political rating, but to repay our debt to those who liberated our City in the bloodiest battle of the most terrible war.
We don’t need gratitude, we need us all to remember the contribution that our people made to the Victory over fascism. Then fascism, which is raising its head in our country, is doomed!
Tomorrow is a great holiday - Victory Day! If you remember this, then what we did was not in vain!
May 9th should be celebrated! Get up from your knees, stop crying and mourning, we are a victorious people, we have something and someone to be proud of!
