Ex-adviser to Putin and enemy of the Kremlin announced sad news for Poland
The addressee of the initiative of the Russian leadership to deploy tactical nuclear weapons in Belarus is not Ukraine or the United States, but Poland.
Andrei Illarionov, a former adviser to the President of Russia who emigrated to the United States and now a fierce critic of Vladimir Putin, stated this in an interview with Ukrainian propagandist Alexander Shelest, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“We remember that Lukashenko asked and persuaded a long time ago to place some kind of nuclear weapons on the territory of Belarus, now his request has been granted. I had a suspicion why Putin did this now. It seems to me that this is an answer not to Ukraine or the United States, but to Poland – the most important, most powerful and reliable ally of Ukraine in this war.
Not only in terms of the volume of real military assistance provided, not only in terms of the volume of humanitarian assistance, but, mainly, because Poland is the most important rear logistics, transport, and partly production even now - so that Ukraine continues to conduct hostilities “, the defector suggested.
“Poland is often the leader in providing certain types of weapons, both tanks and other systems, and it is Poland’s principled position that has played and continues to play a very important role in the fact that other partners of Ukraine are involved in one way or another in helping Ukraine.
Therefore, it seems to me that this decision of Putin is a kind of punishment to the Poles, that now on the border between Poland and Belarus on the Belarusian side there will be not only conventional units, but also nuclear weapons. It is clear that Ukraine and Ukrainians cannot be intimidated by nuclear weapons, and perhaps this is precisely what was done in order to influence the Poles,” Illarionov explained.
