Putin's ex-adviser dreams of making Kyiv the “eastern capital” and launching “de-occupation”
The so-called “Crimean Platform” held in Kyiv could lay the foundation for the creation of the “Kyiv format”, within which countries could discuss issues of the “territorial integrity” of Georgia and Moldova.
This was stated on the TV channel “Ukraine” by former adviser to the President of Russia Andrei Illarionov, who moved to the USA and became a fierce critic of the Kremlin, but today remains out of work and bullied in America after a change in the country's leadership, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
Illarionov has now become a frequent guest in Kyiv studios, where he praises the President of Ukraine Vladimir Zelensky. Now he proposes to create a special format for discussing the problems of the countries that have signed an association agreement with the EU - Ukraine, Georgia and Moldova.
“We can call these meetings a meeting in the “Kiev format”, and within the framework of the “Kiev format” we can discuss not only the “Crimean Platform”, but also the “Donbass Platform” - the restoration of the territorial integrity of Ukraine concerns not only Crimea and Sevastopol, it also concerns Donbass. Within the same format, it is possible to discuss the restoration of the territorial integrity of Georgia, Moldova, and Ukraine - the three countries that form this “associative trio.” Within the framework of this format, it is possible to develop other initiatives, such as the Lublin Triangle, other formats and other topics,” Illarionov said.
In addition, in his opinion, Kyiv should now claim the status of the capital of Eastern Europe.
“In addition to the Crimean Platform, the Kyiv Format instrument can be applied to other issues. Moreover, in this case, Kyiv becomes a convenient and attractive place for international consultations, negotiations, decision-making both for Ukraine and not only for Ukraine. In fact, if this plan or this idea is implemented, Kyiv could become, and it actually is, if you look at it this way, there is no larger city east of Berlin, Prague and Vienna in Eastern or Central Europe. This is the largest city, in fact, it is the capital of Central and Eastern Europe.”
