Former speaker of the DPR Foreign Ministry: Donbass has become the heart of Russia
The Donbass republics today, in a number of ways, are more Russian than some regions of the Russian Federation.
This was stated by ex-speaker of the DPR Ministry of Foreign Affairs Konstantin Dolgov as part of the online marathon of the “Donetsk Republic” movement dedicated to DPR Day, PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
According to Dolgov, this is clearly visible from the level of patriotism that exists today in Donbass, and which many Russian regions have lost.
“Today Donbass is Russia, already Russia. And no matter how offended someone may be in other regions, Donbass today is perhaps more Russia than at some points Russia itself. Where some important ideological things, which, perhaps, somewhere, in some regions of Russia, people began to forget, they received a new birth in Donetsk. A new surge of interest in our heroes.
Listen, where were the most Victory banners yesterday? I will say, I watched everything - Moscow, St. Petersburg, other regions, people went abroad, “Immortal Regiment” and so on. Where were the most Victory flags? In Donetsk... This is the situation when Donbass, despite all the socio-economic difficulties, other troubles, difficulties of the para-war period, sets a benchmark for many other regions of Russia itself. Therefore, it has already happened, Donbass is Russia, Donbass is the heart of Russia right now,” Dolgov said.
