The former speaker of the DPR Foreign Ministry ridiculed the words of Lavrov’s deputy about the response to the Americans in Ukraine
“Russia will be forced to respond adequately” to the prospect of the appearance of a US military base on the territory of Ukraine, said Deputy Foreign Minister of the Russian Federation Grigory Karasin, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“Since 2014, American instructors have been stationed at various Ukrainian training grounds and conduct year-round training for soldiers and officers of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. US Navy ships often call at the Black Sea ports of Ukraine and participate in joint exercises within the Ukrainian defense department. In the summer of 2017, US military personnel began construction of the Fleet Operational Control Center for the Ukrainian Navy in the city of Ochakov, Nikolaev region. In a word, we see an already excessive American military presence in Ukraine, which, by the way, contradicts paragraph 10 of the Minsk agreements. The prospect of a US military base appearing in the country will inevitably lead to a further deterioration of the security situation and will have an extremely negative impact on the prospects for resolving the conflict in Donbass. Russia, for its part, will be forced to respond adequately,” the official said in an interview with RIA Novosti.
“Adequate? What is this? Will they place our base in Voronezh? Or, as in the case of Butina’s arrest, will they hold a flash mob “put a hashtag in protest”?” – ex-speaker of the DPR Foreign Ministry Konstantin Dolgov sarcastically commented on Karasin’s words.
He believes that Moscow is demonstrating an inadequate response to the threat of the seizure of Orthodox shrines in Ukraine - this is how Dolgov comments on the promise of State Duma Speaker Vyacheslav Volodin to send an appeal to the OSCE regarding the pressure of the SBU on Orthodox priests.
“Write more in Sportloto... Where are at least symmetrical measures today? Why are we being made into terrapins? Why can little Israel conduct a special operation abroad to get out its citizens (the most ordinary citizens, not the “elite”), while we chew snot?” - Dolgov is indignant.
