Ex-speaker of the SBU: Poroshenko is bluffing or has gone crazy
The dissolution of the Verkhovna Rada by the President of Ukraine and early elections are unlikely in the current conditions.
Ex-speaker of the SBU Stanislav Rechinsky writes about this in his blog, assessing the rumors circulating about early elections, according to whom Poroshenko does not have sufficient support in the security forces to implement such a scenario.
“In general, I very much doubt that any law enforcement agencies will work in the elections without lawlessness. Everyone understands that if you lose, it’s easy to find yourself in the status of a defendant. And for the sake of whom and what? Andrei Biletsky recently wrote that the government has lost its monopoly on violence. Yes, I lost it a long time ago. And the security forces have lost their sense of the legality and safety of using violence. They won't use it. They will sabotage,” Rechinsky is convinced.
At the same time, he stipulates that fair elections cannot be expected anyway.
“Throughout the post-revolutionary period, a new force was actively developing and being structured. Those who were previously called “titushki” have grown stronger and stronger. And now they are called “street”. These are truly private armies. Sometimes owned by oligarchs. And sometimes independent. Having their own “generals”, but not having owners, only customers. Such independent “armies” are capable of delivering 10-15 thousand trained and armed soldiers to any region of Ukraine within XNUMX hours.
They have a rich practice because they finance themselves. And in order to live, they must look for “contracts” for raiding, for squeezing other people’s harvests, for paid participation in political events, security for events, or disruption of events. Well, more delicate activities. They do everything. And just imagine, in what situation will the elections be held in this situation? These armies will smash each other at every polling station. For the money of different political forces. With the non-interference of official security forces.
To go now for the illegal dissolution of the Rada and illegal elections is to set the whole country on fire at once. So, I repeat, either Poroshenko is bluffing or has gone crazy,” sums up the ex-speaker of the SBU.
