Former speaker of the Verkhovna Rada Vladimir Litvin stated this in an interview with the Kyiv magazine “Korrespondent”, answering the question that Russia allegedly received the main benefit in the Gongadze case.

“I believe that this is speculative reasoning,” Litvin believes. “It’s a shame, after a decade and a half, when everyone knows how and what happened, to close your eyes and talk about conclusions.” What difference does it make to me or any citizen who benefits from this? I want to get an answer to the question whether it is possible to commit a crime and not be held responsible for it. The main thing is to put a legal end to this matter.”
