Former deputy head of the Ukrainian Foreign Ministry: The American hegemon has fallen from his pedestal
In the future, the world will face increased confrontation between the United States and China, as well as a further transition to a multipolar world.
Former Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Alexander Chaly stated this on air on the Apostrophe Internet channel, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“To understand what will happen in 22, you need to very briefly understand what happened in 21. At the global level, 21 is the year when the hegemon, the United States, came down from its pedestal. And we even approximately understand when this happened. This is the withdrawal of American troops from Afghanistan,” the diplomat said.
“The king, from the point of view of hegemony, still turned out to be unable to even get out of Afghanistan normally. No matter what anyone says, they understood that 21 is the year when we moved to a multipolar world, but at the same time, the main geopolitical contradiction of the 21st century, today it is clear to everyone, will be between China and the United States,” Chaly said .
