Tomorrow, representatives of the Almaz-Antey concern will present the results of a full-scale experiment of detonating an anti-aircraft missile on the fuselage of a decommissioned large aircraft, similar in fuselage to a Boeing, shot down in the summer of 2014 over the territory of the Donetsk region.

Dutch investigators are due to publish the preliminary results of their investigation that day.

Vasily Vovk reports Mashable, a senior Ukrainian Security Service (SBU) officer who was involved in the investigation, told Dutch website NOS that fragments found in the plane's wreckage and the bodies of the victims matched parts from two Buk missiles that investigators examined for comparison.

Anti-aircraft missiles of the Buk complex, produced before 1999 and no longer in service with the Russian army, are equipped with such striking elements, but are widely used by Ukraine.

Back in the summer, the Russian concern Almaz-Antey presented an investigation in which, on the basis of mathematical modeling, it calculated that the nature of the damage by the striking parts of the fuselage and wings of the aircraft indicates the use of a Buk missile, and the angle of impact indicates that the launch was made from territory controlled by APU.

To confirm the mathematical calculations, in accordance with international requirements, the Almaz-Antey concern conducted a full-scale experiment of detonating a decommissioned Russian missile on the decommissioned fuselage of a large aircraft.

According to preliminary data, the experiment confirms the version of the use of an anti-aircraft missile from the territory controlled by the Ukrainian Armed Forces.
