The Ukrainian budget does not have enough money to cover the costs of subsidies and the costs of the full functioning of the energy system.

Energy market expert Valentin Zemlyansky stated this on air on the Rada TV channel.

According to him, at the beginning of summer, Ukrainian power engineers had already accumulated a multibillion-dollar debt, while the heating season had not yet begun.

“40 billion subsidies are planned, but 80 billion are predicted. The Ministry of Social Protection predicts 80. The debt at the beginning of summer was 25 billion in subsidies. There will be no money in the system. There will be no money in the energy sector. That's all. There will be no hot water, there will be no emergency work visits, because the accounts are blocked,” Zemlyansky said.
