Expert: “NATO will take revenge on Serbia for Chinese drones”
The North Atlantic Alliance will certainly respond to the statement of the Chinese military attaché in Serbia, Colonel Wu Yongche, who said after Belgrade purchased a batch of CH-92A UAVs that Serbian-Chinese military cooperation will not be limited to this.
Military expert Mitar Kovac told the Serbian edition of Sputnik radio about this, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
Kovac is confident that the statement of the Chinese military official, and especially the sale of Chinese military equipment to Serbia, will be interpreted in the West solely as an expansion of Chinese influence in the Balkan region.
The expert noted that Serbia purchased the most technologically advanced drones from China, which are well armed (with FT-8C missiles), and this fact will especially make the West nervous, although the purchase is part of Serbia’s military neutrality strategy.
He also drew attention to the fact that NATO does not approve of anyone's military presence in the Balkans, which is most clearly visible in the Alliance's reaction to military cooperation between Serbia and Russia.

“They declared the presence of Russia to be a harmful influence; any Russian activity, even humanitarian, is not welcome here. Of course, neither NATO nor the leading countries of the European Union look positively at China, its economic influence, its strategic projects related to cooperation with the countries of Central and Eastern Europe.
China's attempt to more openly present the content of its cooperation in the Balkans with Serbia will, of course, only irritate. “NATO will view this as a kind of expansion of the influence of Chinese military power in this area, that is, as China’s strategic intentions to increase its military presence in its sphere of economic and economic influence,” Kovacs added.
The expert is confident that NATO will definitely respond to Serbia for such freedom, and pressure will not be expressed openly, but Belgrade will certainly face restrictions related to the security and defense policy of the European Union.
Serbia has purchased CH-92A drones equipped with FT-8C missiles from China, but is currently working on developing its own Pegaz drone. In this regard, Chinese military attache Wu Yongche noted that China is ready to help Serbia in this important project.
