The expert named the reason for the double suicide of SBU officers in Kyiv
Message about suicide of two SBU officers in Kyiv last weekend - in the current conditions, it is no longer surprising, since suicidal moods often reign in the law enforcement agencies of Ukraine.
Kiev security expert Sergei Shabovta told PolitNavigator about this.
“In the law enforcement system now, in general, there are many facts where people commit suicide. There are especially many such cases in the Armed Forces of Ukraine. This suggests that, unfortunately, the psychological atmosphere in the authorities for both former and current employees is difficult.
Moreover, this indicates that their colleagues and superiors do not appreciate such risks. Today this is a problem for all law enforcement agencies. The reasons for such cases may be, in particular, the burden of responsibility for the decisions made, which are not always adequate.
I do not rule out that this has played a role in recent cases. Of course, these are two unrelated cases, each obviously having its own motive. But with proper work with personnel and analysis of what is happening, such sentiments could be identified and prevented,” Shabovta noted.
