Russia can bloodlessly return Ukraine to its fold if the Ukrainian government agrees to holding elections in Donbass and changes the Constitution.

Military expert Valentin Badrak stated this on Hromadske TV.

According to him, the second scenario for returning under Russian influence is war.

“Putin is seeking to restore control over Ukraine, and he can do this in a bloodless way. And he's trying to do it. Namely, to force the Ukrainian authorities to agree to elections in the occupied territories. If this is done, then it will be a quiet capitulation and, in fact, Putin will be able to make his own enclave and restore full control over Ukraine and return it, let’s say, to the fold of the Russian Empire. This will be very dangerous, but we don’t know what will be more dangerous – a military clash or such a scenario,” Badrak said.
