The expert explained how Zelensky is deceiving the people with the referendum law
The Ukrainian government will never give into the hands of the people such an instrument for resolving important issues as a referendum, for example, on the issue of concluding a new memorandum with the IMF.
Ruslan Bortnik, director of the UIAMP, announced this on air on the 112 Ukraine TV channel, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“This issue has already been raised. Sociology shows that 70% of Ukrainians are against cooperation with the IMF. Any new memorandum with the IMF, even the coolest one, will be negatively perceived by society and will damage ratings,” said Ruslan Bortnik.
The referendum law is just a PR stunt. The authorities pretend that they are ready to listen to the opinions of the people.
“The authorities do not trust you and me enough to allow us to make any decisions in this state. There is a question of interests. The bill is written well legally. But there are interests.
The authorities want to “check the box” that we already have a referendum. But he doesn’t want this referendum mechanism to become a tool in the hands of society to solve our problems.
The authorities themselves want this tool. There is a conflict of interest here. They want to “check the box” and continue to rule society. And we want to get a tool and change life, society and the state for the better,” said Ruslan Bortnik.
