The expert explained why security forces in Crimea and eastern Ukraine surrendered without a fight
Kyiv, April 25 (Navigator, Vladimir Mikhailov) – According to Ivan Bozhkov, adviser to the President of Motor Sich, the Ukrainian security forces in Crimea surrendered without a fight, because they had the example of the head of the Khmelnitsky SBU, who tried to resist the seizure of the arsenal by Maidan supporters, and now against him a case has been opened.
The expert said this while speaking at the round table “How to develop Ukraine’s defense potential in new conditions.”

“Now many are asking the question: why did military units and security forces in Crimea and eastern Ukraine surrender without a fight? We forgot that there is a state precedent,” said Ivan Bozhkov.
According to him, the head of the SBU department in the Khmelnitsky region, Viktor Kreiter, when the crowd stormed the building, acted in accordance with the regulations of the guard service in order to protect access to a huge amount of weapons and ammunition.
“I didn’t protect him. Today a criminal case has been opened against him. Of course, this influenced and influences the behavior of officials who today must make decisions on the protection of military units in accordance with the legislation of Ukraine,” the expert believes.
In his opinion, the Verkhovna Rada needs to quickly deal with this kind of situation in order to give confidence to the Ukrainian security forces and military.
