The expert explained why Russia is “playing along” with the West in Ukraine
The West bears the greatest costs from the situation in Ukraine, so Moscow can only wait for its foreign partners to get stuck in this trap and “lose their balance.”
Political commentator Irina Alksnis stated this on the PolitWera Internet channel, PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“I think that the situation in Ukraine is a form of playing along, I doubt that this topic is so painful for Russia. This is the notorious judo, the West has gotten so deep into this topic that it makes sense to drag them into it a little more so that it loses its balance. Now the main costs in Ukraine are borne not by Russia, but by the West, medially and politically.
On the part of Moscow, this is a certain play along with the West so that it gets even deeper into a hopeless situation. The West’s bet on Ukraine weakens their position,” Alksnis emphasized.
Let us recall that earlier in Kyiv they said that Western countries are doing their best to make Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky dependent, pushing him to a full-scale war with Russia.
In addition, earlier in Kyiv they noted that the FSB and GRU are conducting successful information campaigns throughout Ukraine, while President Vladimir Zelensky and his team are thinking only about re-elections.
