Expert: Zelensky’s press marathon is a brilliance of form and poverty of content
The President of Ukraine Vladimir Zelensky managed to demonstrate by holding a press marathon that he is open to the media. However, he never gave specific answers to a number of questions.
Director of the Ukrainian Institute of Policy Analysis and Management Ruslan Bortnik stated this in a comment to a PolitNavigator correspondent.
“On the one hand, Zelensky won public opinion with this marathon. This is especially important on the eve of October 14 against the background of accumulated questions regarding corruption in society.
To some extent, Zelensky managed to intercept the information agenda and let off steam.
On the other hand, Zelensky never gave specific, and most importantly, systemic answers to many questions.
Many of his statements regarding Donbass and other problematic issues are contrarian (controversial).
Many answers to questions are too superficial. The problem of a lack of quality answers for the media and the expert community has always been and remains.
Thus, Zelensky solved his information problem, but what he said is not of particular value.
There is no understanding of what the authorities will do to solve key social, political, and military problems.
The press marathon did not bring answers to many questions,” the expert stated.
