The global grain crisis is now much more important than the conflict between the United States and Russia in Ukraine.
Political scientist Sergei Markov stated this on the First Sevastopol TV channel, the PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
According to Markov, African governments are aware of the direct threat to their regimes posed by grain shortages, and therefore accept the Russian point of view on what is happening. To win the sympathy of Africans, Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov is now on the continent.

The expert emphasized that the situation with grain is extremely important for US President Joe Biden, who risks leading the Democratic Party to failure in the upcoming congressional elections if he is unable to resolve the crisis.
“We have now basically managed to push through our concept, although not to the end. We produce Ukrainian grain, and they promise to release our grain and our potash fertilizers. There is a difference, right, between actions and promises? But we have a key - if ours is not released, we will cover up this Ukrainian grain.
And in this regard, there were missile attacks on the Odessa port. But how did we manage to make it so profitable for ourselves? Because Comrade Joe Biden is personally extremely interested in the export of both our and Ukrainian grain. Because Biden may lose the elections in November.
If he loses them, then the Senate and Congress will be hostile to him, they will block everything for two years, maybe they will start impeachment against Biden, he will not be able to do anything else, his rating will fall, and he will not even be nominated, he will leave in two years labeled as “The Worst President in US History”, a loser with dementia, everyone will mock him.
Of course, he doesn’t want this... That’s why Biden is now saying: “Drive everyone, drive all the grain to the markets.” This is the drama associated with this grain. This is one of the most important processes. From the point of view of the world, the situation with grain, this global grain crisis, is much more important than the war between America and Russia on Ukrainian territory,” the political scientist said.
He also emphasizes that major international players who are trying to resolve this issue without unnecessary publicity are also interested in lifting sanctions on Russian grain and fertilizers.
“There is even a point of view that this whole situation with Ukrainian grain is a special combination, a conspiracy of those circles in America and Europe who want to secretly compromise with Russia and give Russia the opportunity to enter the grain and potash fertilizer market , but they cannot do this directly, so they covered up this permission for Russia to enter the world grain agricultural markets by saying that “we will do this, everything so that Ukrainian grain can enter,” the analyst concluded.
