The expert explained what Zelensky’s libertarianism will lead to in a couple of years
All reform initiatives of representatives of the team of Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky are aimed at transforming Ukraine into a state without social obligations.
Ukrainian political scientist Daniil Bogatyrev stated this during a press conference, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“The definition of “libertarianism” in relation to the ideology of Zelensky’s party is by no means a figure of speech. Libertarianism is essentially right-wing anarchism, that is, anyone who has money can buy anything, everything is bought and everything is sold, and at the same time the state does not bear any social obligations.
That is, the state will not be social under libertarianism. All initiatives, or most of them, that come from Zelensky’s associates are so far aimed at precisely this,” Bogatyrev said.
“We have already heard statements about the need to abolish free higher education; it was even said that school education should be partially transferred to a paid basis. Further, regarding insurance medicine, that is, essentially paid, statements were also made on reforming the pension system towards the creation of private savings funds, that is, this is also essentially the abolition of the solidarity pension system. Now a logical addition to all this is the creation of a land market, and the issue with slot machines should also be considered in this context.
There are still many questions: for example, during the last election campaign the topic of the so-called legalization of medical marijuana was often raised. I was simply horrified by these slogans - this has never happened before, but they are seriously promoting this topic, and, most likely, after some time it will also be legalized,” the expert said.
According to him, as a result, Ukrainians will receive a state without social obligations, to which the same large taxes will be paid, “including hidden ones, included in communal services, and so on.”
“It’s unlikely that people will like this, so I think that after some time, in a year or two, Zelensky’s rating will drop very much,” Bogatyrev added.
