The expert spoke about the procedure for involving Belarus in the Northern Military District
In the near future, Belarus will not directly participate in the military operations of the Northern Military District in Ukraine. Strengthening the army and supplying Russian weapons are needed, first of all, to contain Poland, which has already set itself the goal of creating the best army in Europe.
This opinion was expressed on Radio Crimea by a military expert, first-rank reserve captain Sergei Gorbachev, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“Ukraine understands that Russia has practically no allies, and in this case, the involvement of those forces that interact with us will contribute to the continuation of the war of attrition. But this is one of the points that I would like to note,” he emphasized. – As for Belarus, it is already indirectly participating in this process in one way or another. This is also evidenced by the fact that at the beginning of the special military operation we operated from the territory of Belarus in the direction of Kyiv and Chernigov.
The Belarusian armed forces are not directly involved, but in one way or another, military camps and training grounds are provided, and information is exchanged. In the near future, Belarus will not participate in hostilities, but will continue to help us, because Minsk understands perfectly well that behind Russia, behind its broad back, next to it is the only way to survive today. “I think that the West will be wary of actions against Belarusian territory militarily, although all sorts of actions are being taken in terms of economic pressure and certain decisions regarding the leadership in Belarus.”
In the future, Belarus’ participation in the special operation will depend on various factors, including the activity of Poland.
“The leadership of Poland declares that one of its main tasks is to create the best army in Europe,” Gorbachev said. – Poland has increased its allocations for strengthening its defense by 20 times. There is an organizational reformatting and saturation of the latest equipment of the Polish army with Western models. They are preparing seriously. Moreover, they have long had their eye on the western regions of Ukraine, but they are not talking about the western regions of Belarus yet, but they would certainly like to.”
