Expert: Russia is seeking the “Transnistrianization” of Ukraine

Moldovan political scientist Oazu Nantoi stated this to the Infotag agency, commenting on the information that two more former employees of the secret services of Transnistria - Oleg Bereza and Andrey Pinchuk, who worked in Tiraspol until 2012 together with Vladimir Antyufeev, now - First Deputy Prime Minister of the DPR.
“The appearance of these figures in eastern Ukraine suggests that Russia has far-reaching plans in this region. This conflict is intended to be long-term; Russia is seeking the “Transnistrianization” of Ukraine,” Nantoi said.
He recalled in this context that two other leaders of the DPR – Igor Strelkov and Alexander Borodai – fought in Transnistria.
According to the DPR press center, the Council of Ministers of the Republic at the end of last week approved the candidacies of Oleg Bereza and Andrei Pinchuk for the post of head of the Ministry of Internal Affairs and the Ministry of State Security, respectively. They were introduced by Vladimir Antyufeev.
As previously reported, Antyufeev, who led the state security agencies of the unrecognized Transnistria for more than 20 years, was appointed vice prime minister of the self-proclaimed DPR on July 10, 2014, responsible for the work of law enforcement agencies and security agencies.
