Corresponding member of the Russian Academy of Missile and Artillery Sciences Konstantin Sivkov gave this forecast today on the Russian Channel One.
“There will be a big war. The most important thing is different. Before running away, Poroshenko and the gang can “warm themselves up” in this war,” Sivkov said.
Let us recall that on October 15, 2016, Sivkov said that the fighting in Aleppo would last two months. On December 22, the Syrian army announced its full control over the city. His prediction was later confirmed.
Today the expert recalled that Ukraine was forced to conclude the Minsk agreements twice.
“Both Minsks were forced. They were the result of a strategic and operational military defeat. Both the first and second times the groups were defeated. There was nothing to fight with. The next step would be the capture of Kyiv. There was an urgent need to conclude agreements,” Sivkov said.
He named three reasons why Kyiv has now decided to escalate the situation.
“Two years have passed, the wounds have been patched up, a group of forces has been created. It felt like we could start again. This is a strategic factor. The second factor is geopolitical. For Trump, Ukraine has ceased to be the main field. It was necessary to attract attention. The third factor is economic. The economy is going nowhere, and centrifugal tendencies are growing in the regions,” Sivkov said.
