Russia could force the leadership of Belarus to stop Minsk fuel supplies to Ukraine, where the fuel is used by the punitive group against Donbass.
Political commentator Maxim Yusin stated this on the PolitWera Internet channel, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
According to Yusin, Russia has enough leverage over Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko.
“These are Russian oil products that go through Belarus. To some extent, part of it is Belarusian, but a significant part is ours. We have the opportunity, with the influence that we now have on Lukashenko, if our leaders really decided that this is a matter of principle, to cut off the supply of Belarusian diesel. It’s still from our oil - they don’t have their own oil wells. We could achieve this, which means there is no such production, unfortunately.
Although the situation seems absurd - Ukraine is introducing all possible sanctions against us - they don’t even like our toilet paper, and something else, the latest list of 12 items. Sunflower oil and something else, but we are silent, and we cannot influence Lukashenko.
