Expert: Ukraine is experiencing phantom pains regarding nuclear weapons
Kyiv, September 05 (PolitNavigator, Yuriy Kovalchuk) – Restoring Ukraine’s nuclear potential is an election hobby of Ukrainian politicians, while no one seriously considered how much money is needed for this, said Evgeniy Magda, an expert at the Center for Public Relations, on the BTB TV channel.

“Ukraine is experiencing phantom pains regarding the restoration of its nuclear potential. On the eve of the elections, everyone was talking about this, but no one bothered to sit down and use a calculator to calculate how much money was needed for this. We are not even talking about the nuclear potential that was inherited from the USSR. Simply developing nuclear weapons will cost billions of dollars, which Ukraine does not have. And if someone hopes to borrow them, it is in vain, because the United States is particularly strict on this issue and does not allow anyone to acquire nuclear weapons,” Magda believes.
The expert also expressed his opinion on the recent statement by Ukrainian Defense Minister Valeriy Geletey about the possibility of a nuclear strike on Ukraine by the Russian Federation.
“I believe that this scandalous statement was made solely as a propaganda move, but has no basis in reality. Why on earth would Russia use nuclear weapons near its own border, and most importantly, why, is unclear,” says Evgeniy Magda.
As PolitNavigator reported, in connection with Geletey’s statement, the Russian Foreign Ministry allowed itself to doubt its adequacy.
